Tuesday Tidbits: A RED ROSE

…except it’s not.

I just wanted to share this lovely bush that grows beyond my small patio. It looks like a rose, but I suspect it’s not.

It retains its leaves all year round but doesn’t have any thorns.

It creates these wonderful blooms in the spring.

After a spot of research, it look as though it’s a camellia.

It’s so pretty and makes me happy. It’s my first proof of spring. While I’m still thinking winter and cold, it blooms mid to end of March and reminds me that spring is beginning.

What plants in your yard make you smile?
